Since its discovery thousands of years ago, honey has been used for a lot more than sweetening a cup of tea.

Look Healthy Not Gloomy During the Winter

In the middle of winter, some of us fair-skinned ladies are looking pretty pasty.

Although bronzer is mostly used in the summer when we have more exposure to the sun, there’s no reason why you can’t warm up your skin with a hint of bronzer.

The trick is to not overdo bronzer in January to avoid an overdone faux tan. The best choice is a subtle, matte bronzer as an addition to rosy cheeks (wear powder blush to keep bronzer from looking too flat). Use a fluffy large brush to apply the bronzer for a natural look and sweep it over your cheeks, chin, and forehead.

Products Inspired by Marilyn

Fans of Marilyn Monroe may be seeing a lot more of the iconic star now that rights to the late star’s image have been sold to a Canadian entrepreneur. The aim of the deal is to target the mass-market with a line of apparel, handbags, fragrances, and home goods.

“At the end of the day, we see her as glamour and high fashion, but at the same time she is loved by all,” Jamie Salter, who acquired her estate along with US partners, said: “She’s the most iconic female personality in the world. She’s timeless. The biggest and the best aspire to be like her: Madonna, Lady Gaga, Angelina Jolie, Lindsay Lohan. They love her.”

Supplements that Nourish Hair, Skin and Nails

When it comes to eating healthy, we all have good intentions but usually end up relying on processed food that may be high in energy, but low in nutrients.

If you’ve been visiting a fast food drive-through window more often than the fresh produce aisle of your local market, your hair, skin and nails may need an extra boost.

femMED Hair, Skin, & Nails is a comprehensive formula designed exclusively for women to repair and improve rough, dry skin and brittle nails and hair.

Improved Skin Clarity Without Irritation

Not all facial scrubs are created equal. Some scrubs contain harsh particles that can aggravate or dry out your skin, leaving it in worse shape than when you started.

NIP + FAB SCRUB FIX is a triple threat facial polish with micro‑exfoliants that delicately exfoliate skin and promote healthy cell renewal. The soothing scrub refines, brightens, and renews your skin leaving it clear and refreshed.

The formula contains micro-particles to refine and polish your skin, salicylic acid (beta hydroxy acid or BHA) to brighten your complexion, and bamboo to renew and decongest your pores. Use the stimulating scrub once or twice per week and you’ll definitely take care of dull winter skin.

Winners on the Red Carpet

Last night’s Golden Globes were full of surprises.

One of the highlights was Paul Giamatti’s win for Best Actor in a Comedy or Musical (we loved his shout out to Canada and Montreal).

Red carpet style focused on glamour (with many versions of the up-do) but there were a few new looks like Sandra Bullocks‘ fringy hair with heavy bangs. Olivia Wilde also rocked a straight hair look with side bangs.

Is your lifestyle adding years to your looks?

A new study of women in the UK found that modern lifestyles with unhealthy habits are having a detrimental effect on looks, making women look 4.25 years older than they actually are.

According to a poll of 8,000 women over 25, unhealthy habits like smoking, drinking, eating junk food, and using tanning beds are making women look older than their chronological age.

If you thought plastic surgery couldn’t get even more invasive, think again. The most booming reconstructive procedure is not for your face, it’s for your foot.

According to the Daily Mail, clinics like the Beverly Hills Aesthetic Foot Surgery are providing a range of foot operations to handle women’s obsessions with sky-high heels.

Check Your Crystal Ball for These Trends

Nothing says the New Year like psychic predictions.

One of my favorites for this year is Toronto psychic, Nikki’s prediction that Michelle Obama will bring a baby (or two!) to the White House.

Of course, there’s also the possibility a 500-pound salmon will be discovered in British Columbia (good news for you Lox and cream cheese fans.).

If you’re looking for beauty predictions, here are three hot looks that showed up at New York Fashion Week (last September), which is a strong predictor of what you’ll be wearing during the warm, sunny days of spring.
