Red Carpet looks, Makeup Tips, and Products Used
Canadian female rockers stood out on the red carpet at the 40th annual Juno Awards last weekend with the help of MAC Cosmetics, who created the makeup looks for Care (Die Mannequin), Mia Martina, and Amanda Walther and Sheila Carabine (Dala).
My favorite look was New Brunswick singer Mia Martina’s updated smoky eyes in a silver blue shade.
A Perfume of Freedom, Audacity, and Modernity
Fashion house Nina Ricci is launching a successor to its legendary fragrance, L’Air du Temps. Created in 1948, this best-selling fragrance captured the passion of an emerging generation with its elegant scent and graceful twin-dove bottle.
The re-invented floral called L’Air was developed by perfumers Louise Turner and Michel Girard.
The portrait of the bouquet is described by Nina Ricci as “an ode to magnolia: its velvet imperiousness, its radiant generosity, its impetuous sensuality.”
Sweep Away Impurities, Dirt, and Makeup
Over the last few years, green tea has been touted for everything from lowering your chances of heart disease to boosting your metabolic rate.
Taking the green tea phenomenon even further, Naturally Clear Green Tea Cleanser from St. Ives contains 100% natural green tea to gently remove dirt and makeup while maintaining your skin’s moisture balance.
This could be your go to cleanser for handling an unexpected breakout because it also contains 2% salicylic acid to help fight acne. Since the cleanser is oil-free and designed to gently fight blemishes, it may not be the right solution those of you with drier skin.
Paco Rabanne Introduces Miniature Versions of its Star Products
Paco Rabanne has launched a high‑tech travel version of its 1 Million fragrance for men that’s modeled after the original bottle designed by sculptor Noé Duchaufour-Lawrance.
The lingot case resembles a gold bullion and is engraved on the front with the 1 Million logo.
Unlike the original bottle, the magnetized case of the limited edition travel version opens to reveal a holder with a 20 ml atomiser of the best-selling fragrance.
The Power of Peppermint
Spring in North America officially starts on March 20th so it’s not too soon to get your feet ready for the warmer weather (in Vancouver, this means that you can put your soggy rain boots in storage real soon).
The best way to treat dry, overworked feet is with peppermint oil—a tried and true ingredient prized for centuries for its cooling and pain relieving effect.
How to Lose a Boyfriend but Gain a Fragrance
Once you get through a nasty breakup, you may even start to remember the good things about your ex like the scent of your boyfriend that lingered on your skin.
Kate Walsh, who stars in Private Practice, recently debuted her first fragrance, Boyfriend, at Sephora in NYC’s Soho district. The actress created the fragrance when she realized she missed the smell of a boyfriend she had broken up with.
Quality Couture-inspired Wedding Dresses
Even though women spend on the average $1500 for a wedding gown, there are some of us who would rather spend less on the dress and more on other wedding costs.
If your wedding planner doesn’t have the right idea for your future nuptials, you can head down to Costco and check out their selection of bridal gowns. Costco has teamed up with Kirstie Kelly to create a small collection of wedding gowns called Costcouture.
New MAC Products Launching in March
We all love jeans because of their versatility and comfort. MAC Cosmetics has picked up on our passion for denim with the MAC Jeanius collection for Spring 2011.
The jean-inspired collection launches on March 3rd and features eyeshadows, lipglasses, lipsticks, nail polishes, blush, a Penultimate Brow Maker, and a Penultimate Eye Liner.
