Herbs and Spices Treasured by Royalty

Just because you won’t be attending the upcoming wedding of HRH Prince William and Kate Middleton doesn’t mean you can’t get into the pomp and circumstance of the royal event (my invitation must have been lost in the mail—Canada Post strikes again).

One way to feel like a princess is to pamper yourself with a sparkly body lotion with royal herbs.

Shimmering Body Milk from Kings and Queens is enriched with a royal mix of pomegranate, blue lotus, and malachite natural extracts. The purple fruit of pomegranate includes a crown-like top which explains why it’s shown on the coat of arms of many royal houses. The flower of the blue lotus was the most popular ancient Egypt symbol of glory for gods and mortals, and malachite was prized by princes across Europe.

The luxurious lotion comes in three scents: Nefertiti Honey, Queen Isabella Cinnamon, and Caspar Myrrh. I tried the Caspar Myrrh which is an exotic and sophisticated scent (myrrh was used for its properties and was valued almost as much as gold in ancient times). Other ingredients include herbal extracts, sunflower oil, coconut oil, and vitamins.

The subtle shimmer in this moisturizing lotion looks great whether you’re lounging at the beach or sitting in front of a fireplace. For best results, start with smooth skin by exfoliating first to get an even application.
