Chic Princess-Style Jewelry
Although her lacy white wedding dress by Sarah Burton provoked swoons, Princess Kate Middleton’s wedding accessories were the perfect side-show for her wedding ensemble.
For “something borrowed,” Kate Middleton wore a Cartier “Halo” tiara lent to her by Queen Elizabeth II.
The tiara was purchased by the Duke of York, later King George VI, for his duchess, who later became the Queen Mother Elizabeth. The Queen Mother gave the tiara to the current Queen Elizabeth on the queen’s 18th birthday.
Chanel Makeup Studio Doors are Now Open
If you love the runway fashion of Chanel (but may not be able to afford it), you can create the luxury brand’s signature makeup looks instead with the help of their new beauty site.
Chanel Makeup Confidential isn’t an e-commerce site for beauty shopaholics (although it does direct you to Chanel.com to purchase the makeup). It features exclusive video content, backstage beauty looks, and tutorials on creating Chanel makeup looks.
Surf’s Up with New Colour Collection
You know the hot weather isn’t too far off when MAC Cosmetics starts releasing its summer collections.
The Surf Baby line is MAC’s ode to an endless summer with everything you need to stash in your tote bag when you’re hitting the beach (like my fave, Jericho Beach, in Vancouver).
Spring’s Hottest Pinks for Nails, Lips, and Cheeks
Hot pink shades can be scary if you’ve been rocking the natural/nude shades for the last few spring seasons.
The NARS Tainted Love set can help conquer your fear of funky, bright colors. The kit has it all with a trio of perfectly pink lip gloss, nail polish, and blush.
Princess-in Waiting’s Locks to Get Royal Treatment
If you’ve ever dreamed of having a crew of stylists obsess with your hair, you’ll have to start looking for a bachelor prince to propose marriage.
For her April wedding, Kate Middleton will have six hair stylists tending to her royal ‘do.
The team will be lead by James Pryce and Richard Ward, who are longtime royal hairdressers.
Pryce currently charges £88 for a cut and blow dry (that’s approximately $140 Canadian).
The two hairdressers will also have four senior stylists to lend them a hand as they work with Kate and her bridesmaids to create the perfect look.
According to the Daily Mail, Kate has definitely chosen how her hair will look on her special day. She’s already done a practice session (smart girl!) and is very happy with the results. Bets were on that she would opt for a half-up, half-down style but a recent rumour at her salon suggests she’ll be wearing her chestnut locks 100 per cent down and flowy.
New Slimming Superfruit
Want to slash your body’s fat cells?
Then, start snacking on blueberries as they reduce the number of fat cells in the body by up to three‑quarters.
A study performed at Texas Woman’s University found that blueberries reduced the fat content in tissue cultures taken from mice.
Food Show is Replacing Beloved Soap Opera
Although I haven’t always been a faithful watcher of All My Children or One Life To Live, I understand Kelly Ripa’s emotional reaction to their recent cancellation.
Like many soap fans, my biggest fear is that the grim TV reaper will soon be visiting all soap opera sets, even the highly rated The Young and the Restless, as the TV genre continues to fall off a cliff.
The question is how do you feel about more food TV?
Sass and Style for the Cause
It’s ten years since Fashion Targets Breast Cancer has been fighting to create awareness and funds for the cause of breast cancer.
Now you can get involved by wearing one of ten collectible items available through Joe Fresh. All of the net proceeds will be donated to Rethink Breast Cancer.
New Cream Blush Discovery
First it was a dramatic flash of colour on your eyes, then vibrant lip shades, now it’s a bright pop of colour on your cheeks for a rosy glow.
If you’ve been wanting to try cream blush but finding some of the choices a bit pricey (Giorgio Armani Blushing Fabric Second Skin Blush rocks, but it’s not wallet friendly) Joe Fresh Cream Blush offers a wide range of sheer, blendable colours at a mere $8 each.
MAC Quite Cute, Bronze Everyday, and Primed for Perfection
Quite Cute
MAC’s version of girlie glam in cupcake icing colors and vintage romance packaging is all about cuteness. Pastel shades reign the day with Eye quads, Lipstick, Plushglass, and Nail Lacquer.
The Mineralize Blush (in Giggly and Sakura) with a heart ♥ baked right into it is super cute. Basically, if it shines, shimmers and pops, it’s part of the Quite Cute Collection.
Study Finds Conservative Politicians are More Attractive Than Liberal Ones
Since we’re going through a rock ‘em sock ‘em election in Canada, I’ve been wondering what part a candidate’s looks play when it comes to casting a ballot.
According to the Daily Mail, a recent study carried out by experts in Sweden and Finland asked people to judge the attractiveness of politicians from five non-Scandinavian countries including the U.S. and Britain.
Twist Up Crayon With Smooth Coverage
I’ve been hearing a lot of buzz about Clinique Chubby Sticks, a nourishing balm in eight natural‑looking shades.
if you’re not big on heavy lip products, the Chubby Stick Moisturizing Lip Colour Balm is the perfect cross between lipstick and gloss.
