Private Bidder Scoops up Iconic Dress

Even though the movie was filmed over 50 years ago, most people can easily identify the scene in The Seven Year Itch where Marilyn Monroe’s halter dress rises above her knees as she stands on a drafty subway grate and remarks, “Isn’t it delicious?”

Far exceeding its estimate, the iconic pleated ivory dress sold for $4.6 million at a weekend auction of Hollywood costumes.

The dress, designed by William Travilla, was part of an extensive collection of costumes and pieces of film memorabilia sold by actress Debbie
Reynolds in Beverly Hills. When the gavel sounded and the winning price of $4.6 million was announced (after 20 minutes of dramatic bidding), the legendary actress burst into tears.

Everyone is shocked about the crash and burn riot that took place in Vancouver this week after the last game of this year’s Stanley Cup finals.

But, there’s a lighter side to the destruction created by a roaming band of masked activists in downtown Vancouver.

Getting more attention than the Vancouver sky line with smoke rising above the mountains is a photo of an embracing couple on the ground as the Vancouver’s riot police moved in on the crowd.

Quick and Easy Home Remedy

One of the best beauty problem solvers is as close as your kitchen cabinet.

Baking soda may be a staple in kitchen recipes, but it does the trick for pennies when it comes to many of your daily beauty tasks.

Here are three of the best uses for baking soda.

Tip #1: Refresh Your Hair

Add 1 teaspoon of baking soda to your shampoo to eliminate product buildup from conditioners, sprays, mousse (and just about anything you apply to your hair to make it manageable).

You can also use baking soda as a dry shampoo. Just sprinkle some baking soda on your hair and leave it in to absorb the oil. After a few minutes, comb through then fluff with a blow dryer.

New York Congressman Inadvertently Sets New Standard for Briefs

The last thing on Anthony Weiner’s mind right now is that he may have launched the next trend in men’s undergarments.

The notorious Congressman has been fielding questions, left and right, regarding whether he sent a lewd photo of a himself in gray boxer briefs through his Twitter account.

Update: In a surrealistic press conference, Rep. Weiner admitted to sending lewd photos as well as exchanging explicit tweets/photos with others over the last three years.

Two big questions remain:

- Will his wife Huma Abedin stand by him?
- Should he resign?
