Quick and Easy Home Remedy
One of the best beauty problem solvers is as close as your kitchen cabinet.
Baking soda may be a staple in kitchen recipes, but it does the trick for pennies when it comes to many of your daily beauty tasks.
Here are three of the best uses for baking soda.
Tip #1: Refresh Your Hair
Add 1 teaspoon of baking soda to your shampoo to eliminate product buildup from conditioners, sprays, mousse (and just about anything you apply to your hair to make it manageable).
You can also use baking soda as a dry shampoo. Just sprinkle some baking soda on your hair and leave it in to absorb the oil. After a few minutes, comb through then fluff with a blow dryer.
Tip #2: Soften Your Skin
Add 1/2 cup of baking soda your bath water to soften your skin. The baking soda will help relieve the discomfort of dry, flaky skin that’s common in the summer months.
You can also use baking soda as a scrub to exfoliate your face by mixing 3 parts baking soda into 1 part water.
Tip #3: Soothe Sore Feet
I love the latest wedge sandals, but they can kill your feet when you first break them in (and when you have to do more walking than planned). Try soaking your tired feet in a basin of warm water with 3 tablespoons of baking soda.
You can also smoothen rough calluses with a paste of baking soda and water (3 parts baking soda to 1 part water).
