Tim Gunn’s Guide to D.C. Style

The fight over the debt ceiling may be getting all the headlines in the media these days.

However, a battle between a prominent Washington figure and a TV personality is turning out to be more entertaining than the mind-numbing debate over trillions of dollars.

On a recent appearance of  Lopez Tonight, Project Runways’ resident fashion expert, Tim Gunn, critiqued the honorable Secretary of State, Hilary Clinton, not for her diplomatic skills but for her ability to negotiate her wardrobe.

After suggesting that Clinton’s fashion sense needing some re-adjusting, Gunn added: She’s the Secretary of State, she’s the former senator of New York, she’s the former first lady, why must she dress that way? I think she’s confused about her gender with all these big, baggy menswear tailored pantsuits. No, I’m really serious. They’re unflattering.”

They’re Real and They’re Fabulous

Up until now, if someone asked you “if they’re real,” you may have been insulted.

With Benefit’s new mascara, you’ll be happy to answer “yes” if that question ever comes up again.

What’s special about this mascara? If you love BadGal mascara for every day but want lashes “out to there”, Benefit’s they’re real! mascara is worth the $29 (CDN) investment.

The glossy jet-black mascara does it all: lengthening, curling, volumizing, and separating your lashes. It accomplishes the impossible with a unique brush and long-wearing glossy formula. Staggered bristles get close to your root, while bristles on the tip lift and define shorter lashes.

Just position your wand horizontally and wiggle the brush from side to side, base to tip, to get the most out of this mascara. To curl and separate, hold the wand vertically and stroke upward. Layer generously to get even more curl and staying power for your lashes.

Rich Gel Formula with Essential Amino Acids and Pomegranate

If you haven’t noticed yet, gravity is not your best friend.

Even if your skin and face are smooth, neck muscles relax over time and excess fat can accumulate under the chin.

Note to the Readers of The Blush Stops Here

If you’re a regular visitor here, excuse my recent lack of posts.

My mother passed away from pancreatic cancer last week, and I was by her side to comfort her through her final moments.

She was the biggest fan of my beauty blog and also the lucky recipient of many of the products I wrote about. She loved makeup, skin care, and fragrance every bit as much as I do.

Her elegance, style, and grace will continue to inspire my writing on The Blush Stops Here.
