Celebrities Added to Final Days of Vancouver 2010 Olympic Torch Relay
If you’re visiting downtown Vancouver on Friday morning (February 12th) and think you just saw Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger carrying the Olympic torch, your imagination is not running wild. The star of The Terminator and the California legislature will be making an appearance as an official Olympic torch bearer as the relay hits the Stanley Park Seawall walkway just after 7 am PST.
Fans of Michael Buble can see the singer carrying the Olympic torch in Vancouver on Thursday, February 11th along Pacific Street from Howe to Richards at approximately 8:00 pm PST.
Other torch bearers on the final leg of the relay include Canadian astronaut Julie Payette, former Vancouver Canuck Richard Brodeur, Terry Fox’s father Rolly Fox, and former BC Lions Lui Passaglia. Singer Jann Arden will carry the torch on Thursday, February 11th along Oak Street, starting at about 3:17 pm PST at the Child and Family Research Institute and ending at Connaught Drive. Check out the full schedule for the last two days of the relay here, and watch the torch relay live here!
The identity of the final torch bearer, who will run the torch into BC Place to light the cauldron during the opening ceremony, is being kept secret (my guess is Wayne Gretzky who showed up in Vancouver yesterday and avoided reporters). Not so secret are some of the leaked details of the ceremony.
