Easy Ways to Look Thinner

5 May

Most celebrities use stylists to help them select figure-conscious clothes, especially when a red carpet event is looming on the horizon.

For the rest of us, style expert and author Charla Krupp has written a bestseller that features over 1,000 ways we can dress thinner instantly—without dieting.

Here are a few instant tips Krupp has to offer in How to Never Look Fat Again, courtesy of Instyle magazine.

Show Some Skin with a V-neckline

The open, upside-down triangle of V-neck clothing creates a focal point on top and distracts from your midsection. Skin displayed between the chin and chest gives the illusion of a longer, slimmer upper body. Wear Vs in everything from Tees to jackets.

Get a Faux-Tan

Spray tans and self-tanning creams cover skin imperfections (veins, cellulite, stretch marks, brown spots) that distract from the clean visual lines with exposed arms or legs. Moisturizing arms and legs also diminishes skin issues and offers a head-to-toe glow.

Wear Hair Off Your Face

You can bring out your bone structure by pulling your hair into a soft, high ponytail. A quick tease at the crown also makes your face look thinner due to added height and elongation of your face.

Use Jewelry to Accentuate the Positive

Long necklaces make short necks look longer and bring attention to the front and center instead of your hips. Mid-chest bibs or big chandeliers draw eyes to the face and not the middle. Wearing stacks of bangles and blingy cocktail rings brings attention to your wrist instead of your upper arms.
