Barenaked Bachelorette

Not only are they the first Canadian band to land a gig on The Bachelorette, the Barenaked Ladies are also the first group to feature contestants from the reality series in a music video.

On the latest episode of The Bachelorette, the bachelors head out on a group date to a deserted area in Los Angeles for a special performance by the Barenaked Ladies of their hit, One Week. Following the song, the contestants have a chance to act out in a special version of the band’s new music video You Run Away.

Each of the bachelors is given an intimate scene to shoot with Ali. Jonathan is nervous about kissing Ali on camera and gets teary when teased by the other guys, so Ali decides to take control and give him a passionate kiss in the next take. Another scene involes Kirk and Ali kissing in bed and they later pick it up where they left off in the hot tub. Ali ends the night by giving the Date Rose to Kirk and treating the guys to the debut of their music video.[tweetmeme source= “blushstopshere” only_single=false]

Justin, the remaining Canadian bachelor, is still “in the running” although he’s experiencing major pile on from the other contestants (he says he’s never experienced such hostility in his entire life). The three contestants who “run away” because they didn’t receive a rose from Ali are Hunter, Steve, and John.
