Pack Your Suitcase Like a Pro

31 Jul

Ready, Set, Pack!

Whether you’re heading out for the long weekend or planning an extended getaway, these packing hints will help ensure that you have everything you need (and your clothes stay wrinkle-free).

Go For One Color Scheme

Make it simple and choose clothes in colors that go together. A single color scheme will help you create different looks in just minutes for each occasion of your trip (you can also pick up something new to add to the bunch). It’s also easier to match accessories, like jewelry and belts, when all of the colors work well together.

Make a List and Check it Twice

To help get into the “vacay” frame of mind, make a list of the clothes and cosmetics you plan on packing. Then, lay them out and check them off your list to ensure you don’t forget anything. It doesn’t hurt to stash the list in your bag, in case your suitcase goes missing.

Avoid Wrinkles

You can try rolling up your clothes up to avoid creasing (and create more room in your suitcase). But there are some traveling tools that can help your clothes stay wrinkle-free. Packing envelopes let you perfectly fold clothes, then neatly tuck them in your suitcase. Or, use a fabric relaxant to eliminate wrinkles once you get to your destination. Just spray it on, wait a few seconds, then smooth away the creases.

Keep Jewelry Separate

To avoid tangled jewelry, keep pieces separate. Wrap each item in tissue paper, then place it in a separate zipper storage bag where it won’t get entangled with your other favorite jewelry items.
