Fashion and Makeup Standouts from the Red Carpet‎

Dark and dramatic was a major trend on the red carpet at this year’s Emmy Awards held at the Nokia Theater in downtown Los Angeles.

Lea Michele captured the look with a navy blue Oscar de La Renta gown in a ruffled mermaid cut accentuated with a multi-color diamond Lorraine Schwartz jewels and a satin Swarovski clutch. The Glee Star matched her gown with a 60’s style winged eyeliner, dark gray eye shadow, and nude lips.

The winner of the Outstanding Actress in a Drama award, Kyra Sedgwick, wore a strapless Monique Lhuillier gown with a sweetheart neckline in dark burgundy. The gypsy style dress, which Sedgwick said she felt comfortable and relaxed in, was enhanced by her jewel‑toned makeup with shimmery purple eyes and fuschia pink lips.

Eva Longoria was the most dramatic Desperate Housewife with a smoky eye look in brown shades on the lid and above the crease. Her neutral lipstick and dusting of bronzer on her cheeks and shoulders balanced her dark textured Robert Rodriguez dress with black rosettes.

Model and reality TV host Heidi Klum showed off plenty of leg in a black, textured Marchesa mini dress, but her smoky metallic eyes and dark lashes didn’t take a backseat. She pumped up the drama even more with black nail polish and a diamond and ruby necklace by Lorraine Schwartz.

Even Kelly Osbourne took her look seriously this year in a sophisticated textured gown with a deep V-neck by Tony Ward. Her hazel eyes stood out with dark black mascara and coral lipstick.
