Olay is Targeting Anti-Aging Products for a New Generation of Women

Newlywed Carrie Underwood has been named as the new face of Olay, making her the first North American celebrity ambassador for the brand.

The country star, who will represent a line of skin care products, will be part of the company’s 2011 “Challenge What’s Possible” campaign including print and TV ads.

Chosen by Olay because of “her genuine beauty and girl-next-door likeability,” Underwood said she remembers her mother using the original Oil of Olay Beauty Fluid and encouraging her daughters to take care of their skin.”

Although she’s recently moved to Ottawa to join her husband Mike Fisher, who plays for the NHL’s Ottawa Senators, Underwood is hitting the road this fall for her “Play On Tour” which runs from September to December 2010. Canadian stops include Toronto, Penticton, Vancouver, Edmonton, and Calgary.

According to People, Underwood has been using Olay products for around a decade and is excited to be working with Olay: “there couldn’t be a better brand to break into the beauty business with.”

She also loves how the brand has managed to change with the times, which is true when you consider some of the new technology incorporated into Olay products like Regenerist and Definity.
