Purple makeup is popping up everywhere from deep eggplant lip color to grape nail lacquer.
If you’re worried about purple overkill (or looking like Barney 2.0), why not try a wearable eyeshadow that can be applied sheer or layered for a more dramatic effect.
Daphne eyeshadow from NARS is a rich pigmented powder that blends easily and works well as a shadow or an eyeliner (the color looks bright in the pan, but don’t let that stop you).
The vivid violet shade (named for and modeled by fashion icon Daphne Guiness) is definitely a splurge but you can use it sparingly as the pigment is high. The best way to apply the shadow is thinly, then build it for a more dramatic look.
What to wear with this perfect purple shade?
Try pairing Dapne with cool silver tones. Or, for more intensity, make your eyes pop by applying yellow-lime Mangrove to the inner corner of the eye as a base shade for the lid or sweep it into the bridge to diffuse the deeper purple shade.
