New Generation Fragrance: L’Air by Nina Ricci

Fashion house Nina Ricci is launching a successor to its legendary fragrance, L’Air du Temps. Created in 1948, this best-selling fragrance captured the passion of an emerging generation with its elegant scent and graceful twin-dove bottle.

The re-invented floral called L’Air was developed by perfumers Louise Turner and Michel Girard.

The portrait of the bouquet is described by Nina Ricci as “an ode to magnolia: its velvet imperiousness, its radiant generosity, its impetuous sensuality.”

Notes Behind Nina Ricci L’Air

Like the first signs of spring, this sensual fragrance is made up entirely of flowers with a fresh head, a velvety heart, and a powerful base.

  • Top notes: Fressia, Honeysuckle, Violet Leaves.
  • Middle notes: Magnolia, Jasmine Sambac, Bulgarian Rose.
  • Base notes: Palisander wood, Patchouli.

The next generation fragrance is presented in a white and powder pink flacon with color that gradually fades away to reveal a sculpture of two transparent, intertwining doves.

Designed for a modern urban woman, the film campaign shot by photographer Ryan McGinley shows a young woman exploring her freedom in the streets of Paris in springtime. The light and airy fragrance, revealing a new femininity, is sure to follow the success of its predecessor and give new life to the L’Air du Temps line.

L’Air by Nina Ricci will be available in Eau de Parfum Spray (50 ml and 100 ml) at The Bay and Shoppers Drug Mart in May 2011.
