Check Out These Beauty Apps (In Honor of Steve Jobs)

Sadly, Steve Jobs has lost his fight with pancreatic cancer (also called the silent killer, because early pancreatic cancer often does not cause symptoms).

It’s a tragic loss for technology diehards and those of us who are familiar with the intense suffering this cancer causes (I lost my beautiful mother to pancreatic cancer this past June).

If you love beauty and fashion, you can thank Steve Jobs for all the cool apps you can now download to Apple devices.

iStylist Makeover ($0.99)
This is the #1 virtual makeover app for iPhone and iPod Touch. Pick an existing photo (or use the camera) and try different hairstyles, glasses, hats, and makeup. Designed for both females and males, it also includes the latest celebrity styles.

L’Oréal Paris (Free):
Browse the L’Oréal gallery of makeup looks and watch a range of application videos for skincare, makeup and hair color products. Complete a skincare and hair colour diagnostics to get personalized product recommendations. Also, you can use an Interactive Product Scanner to get product related tips and advice.

InStyle Hairstyle Try-On (Free)
Try the hottest celebrity hairstyles on your own photo, use an auto-detect technology to accurately determine your face shape, and then test out star styles for that shape. Share the results and get tips on how to get the look. Choose from over 250+ styles including the Best Cuts for Your ‘20s, Low Maintenance Work Hair, and Wedding Hair. Check out new looks every two weeks.

Love My Skin ($0.99)
LoveMySkin shows four views of the body and allows you to check markings for moles that you want to keep track of. Zoom in and around a detailed rendering of the human anatomy and check out a built-in guide that makes comparing benign moles to malignant moles easier.

Sephora to Go (Free)
This app lets you see the latest launches, read ratings and reviews, look up previous purchases, access your Beauty Insider account, and create shopping lists (and of course buy products). Use it in stores to instantly pull up product videos, product information, ratings and reviews, add products to shopping lists, and more. For a limited time, you can get a free Sephora iPhone case with any online order.
