New Additions to the SoftShades Collection

If Shrek can inspire a nail polish collection, shades reminiscent of the New York City Ballet is even less of a reach.

Seriously, the colors of the New York City Ballet are so appealing that OPI is launching a SoftShades colors collection next month including five sheer, neutral shades and one silver sparkle shade.

According to Suzi Weiss‑Fischmann, OPI Executive VP & Artistic Director, the NYCB is rich with artistic history. “The dancers, choreography and costumes provided a wealth of inspiration for a range of soft, feminine hues. The beige, pink, and white lacquers bring to mind classic ballet slippers, tutus and leotards, while the sheer lilac and gray add muted color to ballet’s traditional pink.”

The six colors (from left to right) are:

  • Barre My Soul: Sheer beige
  • You Callin’ Me a Lyre: Soft pink
  • Don’t Touch My Tutu: Sheer white
  • Care to Danse: Soft lilac
  • My Pointe Exactly: Sheer gray
  • Pirouette My Whistle: Silver sparkle.

The new collection will be available at professional salons and specialty stores starting April 2012 for $8.50 each.
