Be a Babe and Help Fight Breast Cancer

20 Sep

Perform on Stage with the Babes4Breasts Group

If you can carry a tune and live in the Ottawa area, you can join the fight against breast cancer.

The Be a Babe contest offers budding musicians (12 years of age and older) an opportunity to perform on stage with the Babes4Breasts group as they continue to raise awareness in the fight against breast cancer.

If you’re a potential “Babe,” all you need to do is upload your best acoustic/acapella video to the St. Laurent Facebook Page at by September 30, 2012. You then have between October 1 and October 7, 2012 to encourage everyone you know to vote for your page. The best part: every online vote triggers a $5 donation by the St. Laurent Centre to the Ottawa Regional Cancer Foundation.

The top 10 vote-getting artists will perform live on October 14 at St. Laurent Centre where ONE winner will be chosen by a panel of local celebrity judges to perform LIVE at the Babes4Breasts concert, in addition to receiving a $500 St. Laurent Gift Card and a session with St. Laurent’s fashion stylist.

This year’s benefit concert takes place on Saturday, October 20, 2012 at 8:00 p.m. at Saint Brigid’s Centre for the Arts, the concert home of B4B since 2011. The concert will also mark the release of B4B’s second compilation album, featuring a special track called “My Now is Here” written by a group of cancer survivors with B4B; check it out here.

Concert tickets are $20 advance purchase and $27 at the door. They can be purchased at the St. Laurent Centre, Ottawa Folklore Centre, Compact Music and CD Warehouse locations or online at
