How to Create a Smooth Canvas for Your Foundation: Clinique Superprimers

17 Oct

Now that HD technology is here and we’re all posting more photos and videos, we all could all use a little help making our foundation look perfect.

To prep your skin so that your foundation can live up to its true potential, Clinique has introduced new customized Superprimers.

What’s Different About Clinique Face Primers?

The oil-free formula with lightweight silicone polymers smooths skin and improves texture at the same time so that you can apply your foundation more evenly. All you have to do is smooth the primer over your entire face or where needed with your fingertips, or makeup sponge, before foundation.

Even better, Superprimers are available in one universal formula and five tinted formulas designed for specific skin care needs. Using the theory of colour science, each shade appears translucent when you apply it, yet it neutralizes the contrasting complexion concern that you’re trying to manage.

Here’s a list of the Superprimer shades  and what they can do for you:

  • Universal Face Primer—Colourless formula instantly smooths the skin.
  • Colour Corrects Redness—Yellow tined primer colour corrects skin redness.
  • Colour Corrects Dullness—Pink tinted primer colour corrects dull, lackluster skin.
  • Colour Corrects Dullness for Deeper Skins—Soft, pearlized bronze tinted primer colour corrects ashiness and dullness.
  • Colour Corrects Discolourations—Peach tinted primer helps colour correct dark spots, acne scars, and areas of hyperpigmentation.
  • Colour Corrects Sallowness—Lavender tinted primer colour corrects sallow skin.
Tips for Using Superprimer Face Primers

Check out these expert face primer tips from Clinique Global Colour Artist, Jenna Menard:

  • Select a Superprimer based on your specific complexion concern whether it is redness, dullness, discoloration, or sallowness.
  • If you have more than one complexion concern, use a primer to address one concern and a foundation to address the other instead of applying more than one Superprimer.
  • If you’re seeking to achieve a perfected complexion, start with a smooth surface and pair your face primer with a foundation.
