Have you ever wondered whether facial exercises can stop the signs of aging? After all, we regularly exercise other muscles of the body to maintain their shape and effectiveness over time.

The 5-Minute Facial Workout is a modern take on working the muscles of the face to produce noticeable results quickly, for people of any age or skin type.

Written by Catherine Pez, who has taught facial gymnastics for several years, the book presents 30 simple exercises to develop, relax, or firm the musculature of the face.

Each exercise is well-illustrated with an anatomical chart of the muscles it stimulates and photos of the positions you need to take. To get started, the book offers three programs as a guide; however, you can customize the exercises for your particular situation and/or expectations.

While testing the program, I found the exercises targeting specific muscles of the face easy to follow and appreciated that most of them require maintaining tension for only 5-10 seconds (this means you won’t overwork parts of your face).

The book also demonstrates how to follow up your workout with skin pinching and a facial massage that promotes blood circulation and enhanced penetration of skin care creams (love this!).

Depending on the condition of your muscles, expect to see benefits fairly quickly like a healthy firm glow on your naturally beautiful face.
