Battle of the Blurs

5 May

Have you done your makeup spring cleaning yet?

I recently re-organized some of my makeup and noticed how many blurring products I have. I’m all for a natural look, but sometimes even a beauty blogger needs extra help :).

Here are some of the blurring products that I use regularly. You can apply them as a primer before makeup or to areas you want to blur after applying makeup.

The battle really comes down to the type of makeup you’re wearing, the state of your skin, and how much you want to pay for this type of product.

Garnier Skin Renew 5 Second Blur Instant Smoother

This instant smoother is designed to blur the visible signs of aging including wrinkles, fine lines, flaws, and visible pores. The formula comes in a pink mousse which is easy to blend.

The large tube and lower price are what I like most about this product since its blurring capability rivals more expensive products.

Nanoblur Instant Skin Finisher

This skin finisher contains optical prism technology designed to give your skin a naturally airbrushed effect. When you apply Nanoblur, micro-prisms reflect light and create a smoothing effect.

The formula is thicker than other blurring products and takes a few seconds to dry on your skin. It also has a bit of a lifting sensation, and can help conceal redness and broken capillaries.

This is one of my favorite blur products; however, it is pricier than other products.

The Body Shop All-in-One Eye Primer

This eye primer is designed to conceal under eye dark circles, neutralise redness on the eyelid, and enhance eye shadow color. It has a nude tint (which blends in easily) to help conceal darkness and redness around the eyes.

If you want to target only your eye area, this is worth taking a look at it. However, the other blurring products work just as well in the eye area and can be used all over the face.

Benefit The POREfessional Face Primer

This is the luxury version of a blurring product that minimizes pores and fine lines. It has a silky formula that can be used to prime your skin orย  mattify and touch up areas throughout the day. Even though it has a slight tint, it blends well so no one will know youโ€™re wearing anything.

A bonus in the formula is that it contains vitamin E which protect skins from free radicals so you can use this for a no-makeup look.

Which blurring product is your favorite?

I love Benefit’s POREfessional!! I save it for special occasions though as it’s a bit pricey for every day. As an everyday primer, I use the Nivea Men aftershave balm trick! x

I’ve been curious about that Nanoblur – the pictures make it look like a magic product! Glad to hear it’s good. I received the face version of the Body Shop Instablur and I’m excited to try it.
