Want to Prevent Aging Skin? Use Sunscreen Daily ☀️

If you want to prevent aging skin, it’s super easy. Wear sunscreen every day!

A Sunscreen and Prevention of Skin Aging study run by a group of physicians demonstrated what dermatologists have been telling us for years (but had yet to prove).

The study looked at 900 adults younger than 55 living in Australia over a period of four years. All participants wore sunscreen with a sun protection factor (SPF) of 15+.

Participants who applied sunscreen regularly had younger-looking hands, with 24 percent less skin aging than those who used sunscreen only some of the time.

Now that may not sound like a lot, but think of the “nasty” sun spots and wrinkled skin that can show up on your face and hands year after year. What if you could prevent some of that aging with sunscreen?

To get similar results, most dermatologists recommend using water‑resistant, broad‑spectrum sunscreen with an SPF of at least 30 daily.

BEAUTYTIP: If you have a habit of forgetting to wear sunscreen, make sure to carry a small tube in your purse or keep one in the car. No excuses allowed!

Do you have a favorite sunscreen?

I really need to get better at this! Many of my face lotions have an SPF, but not all. Curious to look into that Tarteguard!

Preach! I’m all about the sunscreen. Right now I’m really enjoying the Clarins Tinted one – it’s mineral based so my skin tolerates it well.
