What I’m Loving Lately: Makeup Revolution

Makeup Revolution Palettes

Happy mid-week beauties!

I’m very excited to share my latest beauty crush: Makeup Revolution.

I was introduced to Makeup Revolution at a beauty event in Vancouver this summer.

Prior to the #LDBeauty event, I read about Makeup Revolution but wondered if I would ever get a chance to pick up any of their products (even though Canadians love our beauty products, we don’t always have the same access as US and UK makeup junkies).

The Makeup Revolution reps that attended the event were super nice (and I’m not just saying that!). They made me even more excited to check out their brand, which was created with the belief that high-quality, affordable makeup should be within reach of everyone.

Here are a couple of Makeup Revolution products that I’ve been loving so far.

Makeup Revolution Blush Palette

I’ll start with my favorite: my first blush and highlight palette!

I admit I get into a makeup rut and wear the same shades. A blush/highlighter palette is the perfect incentive to expand your makeup horizons whether you’re going for a natural look or something more sparkly.

The blush palette features highly pigmented blushes and matching highlighters in one palette. If that’s not enough, there are three palettes to choose from:

  • Blush Goddess–This powder palette includes pink to peach blushes, and natural sheen to intense highlighters.
  • Blush Queen–This baked blush palette includes finely milled baked blushes and highlighters with neutrals, peaches, and pinks (my fave).
  • Blush Melts–This cream blush palette includes long-wearing cream blushes in 8 shades that suit any skin tone.

The shades in this palette are pigmented, silky smooth, and easy to blend with a lot of possibilities.

Makeup Revolution Redemption Eyeshadow Palette

There are so many high-end neutral palettes, and some of them just don’t live up to the hype.

This palette is amazing for the price (under $20). It has a mix of everything: pearl, shimmer and matte shades with good color payoff. TIP: If you use an eyeshadow primer, these shades have even more staying power.

I received the Iconic 3 version of this palette with a range of rose gold metallic to medium and deep neutrals. The 12 shades in this palette also have all season wearability.

Vivid Baked Highlighter

This is the first baked highlighter I’ve tried. Baked makeup, which starts as a liquid, usually has a creamy texture and long-lasting color.

So far, I’ve been applying the Vivid Baked Highlighter to the upper cheek area to build dimension. With just a few swipes, the highlighter creates a gentle glow. For a more vibrant effect, it can be applied wet.

The Vivid Baked Highlighter comes in three shades:

  • Peach Lights (peachy glow)
  • Golden Light (golden glow for tanned skin)
  • Radiant Light (pearly pink glow)

This is just the tip of the iceberg for Makeup Revolution products.

Although Makeup Revolution is currently famous for their palettes, eyebrow products, and contour solutions, they strive to bring new products fast to market. I say bring it on!

I was introduced to this brand when I visited the UK in May. I bought 5 of their Redemption Iconic palettes (all the UD Naked Dupes), and they are amazing quality. The first eyeshadow I’ve ever had to last all day on my oily lids.
I’m so, so happy that they are now available in Canada (but my wallet is not …)

So is Makeup Revolution coming to Canada?!
I got one of the blush palettes through a swap – it’s such great quality for the price!

Yes, they’re available at London Drugs now, and I think Makeup Revolution is working out arrangements with other drugstores across Canada.

I’m glad they’re here. I can feed my makeup addiction very nicely with their palettes.

Yay! I’m crossing my fingers they get into Ontario! Next brands we need here are Kiko and Catrice!

Have you written a post about the brands you’d like to see come to Canada? You have a wealth of brand knowledge. I’d love to know what you think.
