Hi beauties!
How is the New Year going for you so far? I hope you’re keeping warm!
We had an Arctic cold front come through Vancouver last week, but it’s warmed up (phew!). Since I’m originally from Winnipeg, I know we’re pretty lucky out here on the West coast, so I’ll stop now.
I always like to keep my eye on what’s new in makeup (although I usually don’t go hard-core). For the last few months, I’ve noticed that burgundy or maroon shades are trending.
One of the best palettes for trying out this range of shades is the NYX Perfect Filter Shadow Palette in Rustic Antique.
This palette comes with 10 shades in matte and shimmer finishes. The colors are highly pigmented, super soft, and blend well.
Here’s a rundown of the shades (starting in the upper left corner):
- This is a matte ivory-white shade.
- This is a matte maroon shade.
- This is a matte nude shade.
- This is a shimmery gold shade.
- This ia a shimmery peachy beige shade.
- This is a matte dark peach shade with a hint of gold.
- This is a matte orange shade.
- This is a shimmery copper shade on the red side.
- This is a shimmery dark plum shade.
- This is a semi-matte cranberry shade.
The only drawback for this palette is that it doesn’t come with a mirror. However, the quality and quantity of the shades makes it worth picking up if you want to explore burgundy shades!
Happy 2018 everyone. 🎉🍸💋

I’ve heard good things about this palette, and actually, the layout and format reminds me a bit of the Viseart palettes.
