Sampling Skincare for the Summer II

2 Jul

Hi beauties! How is your summer going so far?

Last year, I wrote a post about skincare that I was sampling for the summer.

This post is a follow-up to last year’s post, and includes products I picked up at the Beauty Boutique at Shoppers Drug Mart.

Bobbi Brown Luxe Lip High Shine

If you’re looking for a combination of lipstick and lip gloss, this liquid lip formula delivers a shiny, hydrated look. I tried the Red the News shade, which is a bright, true-red shade. I like the high shine feature, but would prefer a more neutral shade.

Shiseido Rouge Rouge

This lipstick is creamy, moisturizing (yes!), and long-lasting. The shade I received is called Ruby Red, which is a flattering classic red shade. The packaging for the lipstick tube is beautiful and includes a magnetic closure.

Dolce Gabbana Garden Eau de Parfum

This floral eau de parfum is fresh and sweet (very summery). It includes notes of magnolia and mandarin, coconut essence, and almond milk.

Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair

I’ve reviewed this serum in a previous post, and was happy to get another sample. The serum contains Hyaluronic Acid, which helps to lock in moisture while you sleep.

Don’t expect to see results right away with this serum. It takes a few months before you see any changes.

Benefit Roller Lash Curling & Lifting Mascara

I love the Hook ‘n’ Roll brush on this mascara. It helps to lift lashes and give them a lenghthened look. I also like that the formula contains provitamin B5, which is known for its lash-conditioning benefits.

Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing Gel

If you’re a skincare junkie, you’ve probably tried Dramatically Different Moisturizing Cream at some point. The gel is a lightweight, oil-free version of this iconic skincare. It’s best for oily skins, or you can use it as your light summer moisturizer.

Clarins Pore Control Serum

I’ve reviewed this serum in a previous post. The serum has a light texture, which immediately absorbs into the skin. Besides the long-term results of less visible pores, it also provides an immediate blurring effect.

Juice Beauty Stem Cellular Anti-Wrinkle Booster Serum

This is an ultra-light gel serum with a blend of fruit stem cells infused into Vitamin C. It also contains resveratrol to help boost and enhance skin tone and texture.

Using the sample, I didn’t see any immediate difference in my skin, but I like that Juice Beauty is an organic skincare option.

Filorga Time-Filler Absolute Wrinkle Correction Cream

Filorga is a luxury French brand that’s been around for 40 years. This cream, which is designed to be an alternative to Botox, has a tripeptide to relax features without freezing facial expressions.

You only have to apply only a small quantity in the morning and/or evening, as it is highly concentrated (this is good because it’s very pricey).

Elizabeth Arden Prevage Anti-Aging Daily Serum

This serum targets wrinkles, sun damage, age spots, and discolouration. Even though it targets many anti-aging symptoms (firmness, tone, and radiance), it’s out of my price range.

Which products are you trying out this summer? Let me know!
