Save Your Lips: tarte Rainforest of the Sea Quench Lip Rescue

4 Apr

tarte Rainforest of the Sea Quench Lip Rescue

Happy Monday beauties!

One of the biggest makeup launches to make a “splash” this spring is the tarte Rainforest of the Sea collection.

It definitely caught my eye not just because the packaging is so darn cute! It also hits the jackpot because it features skin-friendly products with healthy ingredients like algae and marine flowers.

Even though the weather is warming up, I’m not ready to give up using a moisturizing lip balm so I picked up the tarte Quench Lip Rescue in Opal.

This sheer balm hydrates and protects lips with a soft, subtle color in four shades:

  • Rose (coral pink)
  • Berry (deep red)
  • Nude (peachy pink)
  • Opal (pearly pink; shown in photo)

Bold Lips for Spring with Clarins Joli Rouge Lipstick

Clarins Joli Rouge Lipstick

Happy Monday beauties!

I was lucky enough to win an invitation to a Clarins beauty event in Vancouver last month, hosted by the amazing Dave Lackie.

One of the goodies we all left with was Clarins Joli Rouge lipstick.

That made me very happy because this collection of lipsticks is one of the most moisturizing I’ve come across lately. Joli Rouge lipstick has a creamy, moisture-rich formula with plant extracts that treat your lips and  mango oil that adds long-lasting hydration.

The shade that Clarins was kind enough to give us is a berry shade called Soft Plum. This rich burgundy color is right on trend this spring.

Shiseido Instant Eye And Lip Makeup Remover

Good morning, beauties! I hope you had a great weekend.

I thought I’d share my favorite makeup remover with you because it’s a real lifesaver for my lashes and lips.

Shiseido Instant Eye and Lip Makeup Remover not only removes eye and lip makeup in a breeze (even waterproof makeup), it does it gently. This is a big deal, especially if you love your lashes (like I do).

This dermatologist and opthalmologist-tested makeup remover has skin-caring properties that protect against dehydration while removing all of your makeup. Shiseido is always coming up with innovative formulas, and this one dissolves makeup while leaving your skin clean and hydrated.

What I’m Loving Lately

18 Feb

Here are few beauty goodies that I’m loving lately. Have you tried any of these products or would like to try them? Let me know.

1. Clinique Chubby Stick Sculpting Highlight

This highlight crayon from Clinique’s contouring line contains pearlized, light-reflecting pigments that I’ve always lusted after.

I use this sculpting crayon to add a luminous sheen to the top of my cheekbones or above my lips to make them look more shapely.

2. Cellex C High-Potency Serum

Vitamin C is one of the most powerful ingredients for fighting aging. Why? Vitamin C helps to produce collagen which gives elasticity to your skin.

When it comes to Vitamin C, nobody does it better than Cellex C with its concentrated levels of ascorbic acid (Vitamin C).

3. Pur Minerals 4-in-1 Foundation

Why You Need to Invest in Makeup Brushes

8 Feb

It Cosmetics Brush Kit

Budget beauty works well for most items like lip balms and makeup wipes.

When it comes to makeup brushes, you just may want to pull out more bills.

Why? High-quality makeup brushes make application easier and they’re designed to last longer. Most importantly, they don’t damage your skin.

Two high-end makeup brush sets to get started with are the Dior Backstage Brushes Collection and the Bobbi Brown Mini Brush Set.

Another cult favorite for makeup brushes is IT Cosmetics, a brand that designs luxurious brushes that give new meaning to air brushing. The brushes are 100%, cruelty-free, and anti-microbial.

 FluMakeup

Flu season is here and hopefully you haven’t caught a cold or flu.

If you are sick, get plenty of rest!

When you’re ready to face the world, check out these makeup recovery tips to find out how to camouflage the last signs of your cold or flu.

Wear a Moisturizing Foundation

When you suffer from a cold or the flu, your skin may need extra moisture.

A tinted moisturizer or BB cream like Maybelline Dream Fresh BB 8-in-1 Beauty Balm isn’t drying like a powder, nor is it heavy like a liquid. It’s also quick and easy to apply (you probably don’t want to spend a lot of time on makeup when you’re getting over a cold!).

Cancel Out Red with Concealer

Red spots go hand in hand with a cold, especially around your nose. Benefit Cosmetics arsenal of correcting products from the Confessions of a Concealaholic kit like Lemon Aid and Boi-ing can help cancel out red spots on your nose and around your eyes.

To help with any dryness or cakiness around the nose, go for one of the latest high-tech skin relief lotions. Soothe from Diane Lai is an organic Shea butter-enriched lotion with natural oils to prevent discomfort and inflammation.

Try Peach Eye Shadow for a Little Warmth

For a quick fix for eye color, use a versatile product like Cream Colour Base from MAC Cosmetics in Shell.

This translucent cream color with a peachy beige shimmer is recommended as a shadow base but can also act as an all over color.

Wear a Blush With a Bit of a Glow

It’s common to become paler when you’re sick, so you may need a bit of colour and highlighter to create a healthy glow and subtle sparkle.
