Perform on Stage with the Babes4Breasts Group
If you can carry a tune and live in the Ottawa area, you can join the fight against breast cancer.
The Be a Babe contest offers budding musicians (12 years of age and older) an opportunity to perform on stage with the Babes4Breasts group as they continue to raise awareness in the fight against breast cancer.
If you’re a potential “Babe,” all you need to do is upload your best acoustic/acapella video to the St. Laurent Facebook Page at www.beababe.ca by September 30, 2012. You then have between October 1 and October 7, 2012 to encourage everyone you know to vote for your page. The best part: every online vote triggers a $5 donation by the St. Laurent Centre to the Ottawa Regional Cancer Foundation.

It also helps skin replenish its outer later, protecting it from potential irritants. To moisturize and soothe skin, the formula also contains rice extract and Aloe.
Check Out These Beauty Apps (In Honor of Steve Jobs)
Sadly, Steve Jobs has lost his fight with pancreatic cancer (also called the silent killer, because early pancreatic cancer often does not cause symptoms).
It’s a tragic loss for technology diehards and those of us who are familiar with the intense suffering this cancer causes (I lost my beautiful mother to pancreatic cancer this past June).
If you love beauty and fashion, you can thank Steve Jobs for all the cool apps you can now download to Apple devices.

The Mad Men collection, available in Banana Republic stores and online starting this month, includes 65 items created as a contemporary collaboration between the store and Janie Bryant, Mad Men’s costume designer. Bryant also has designed another line of 60s-inspired clothing (called Mod) for QVC and The Shopping Channel.
Upcoming MAC Collections for End of Summer

Seasonally Supreme gets its inspiration from Far East cities like Tokyo, Seoul, and Shanghai. The new collection called Sheen Supreme includes a palette of twelve cream-or-frost-finished shades that incorporate the region’s colour preferences fusing together Lipglass’ high-shine finish with the saturated colour of a Lipstick (check out swatches here). Love is a Battlefield
Everyone is shocked about the crash and burn riot that took place in Vancouver this week after the last game of this year’s Stanley Cup finals.
But, there’s a lighter side to the destruction created by a roaming band of masked activists in downtown Vancouver.
Getting more attention than the Vancouver sky line with smoke rising above the mountains is a photo of an embracing couple on the ground as the Vancouver’s riot police moved in on the crowd.
Who doesn’t love a beauty multi-tasker, especially in the summer when you’d rather be enjoying the outdoors rather than touching up your makeup.
MAC Prep + Prime Beauty Balm is the perfect go to product whether you’re looking for a colour perfector, face primer, UV protector, or hydrator.
Just apply the lightly tinted beauty balm to your skin before foundation for enhanced wear throughout the day.

The Workout You Wear
Body shapers have come a long way in the last few decades by using lightweight fabric that controls target areas without sacrificing comfort. Now, it looks like the next generation of shapewear is about to hit the shelves of your local lingerie department.
Shapewear products from ShaToBu were created by a Quebec chiropractor, Dr. Denise Perron, who sought to create a shaper that would provide muscle toning and exercise to improve posture. By incorporating resistance bands into the garment, she created shapewear that makes your muscles work harder causing you to burn more calories.
According to independent studies conducted at the University of Virginia, women who wore ShaToBu burned up to 12% more calories as they performed regular activities like walking or climbing stairs. Calculate that over time, and it adds up to 30,000 extra calories per year.
